We did it!
For the last three years I have been utterly privileged to work for HTG, an organisation founded in technology and completely entrenched in its people, values and culture.
Our motto here at HTG is “It’s the people you work with that create a great workplace” and that has never been more special than right now.
Why? Because for the last three years, HTG has been on a journey of discovery where we have continuously challenged ourselves and our people around how we not only create but sustain an environment where people truly enjoy coming to work.
Was the journey worth it, you ask? It certainly was. This year we have just been awarded the 14th best place to work in Australia (100 – 999 employees) as part of Great Places To Work Australia.
This is the third year we have provided a submission to this program and to say we are proud of this achievement would be a complete understatement. Year on year we have listened to our people, acted on their thoughts and worked together to deliver large and small initiatives to inspire our people.
Over the course of the last year we have been particularly focused on giving back to our people and to our community in the most rewarding of ways.
We’ve improved our resources, investing in additional tools to enable our people to be more productive and therefore successful and happy at work. We’ve also involved our people in thinking more about their own role and how or what they bring to work each and every day to make it enjoyable for themselves and their colleagues.
When we received our official results from Great Places To Work Australia earlier this year, three key stand out areas of improvement across HTG were people feeling more recognition, feeling a sense of pride about what they had accomplished and people having the right resources to do their job.
For me personally, my role is dedicated to the growth and development of our people and our business. So achieving a result of 14th best place to work in Australia is not just a reflection of the passion, energy and sheer effort we all go to on a day-to-day basis to create an environment where our people are happy, it is actually far more about the fact tat our people genuinely feel that way.
They have said loud and clear they truly believe this is a great place to work and for that my heart just bursts with pride!
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the owners of our business for allowing me to be me, the leaders in our business for truly supporting our vision and goal of being a great place to work and finally our people for showing up every day with a smile on your face, ready to face any challenge, ready to support your team members and ready to give it your all.
