The Impact of a Pink Cupcake

There is only one word to describe the vibe of a Pinky Promise morning tea… Sweet.

We all sometimes get caught up in our day-to-day lives and personal agendas, forgetting that the small acts of kindness we engage in have an unforgettable impact. HTG, Telstra and numerous food retailers made a choice to undertake an act of kindness. Something as simple as donating a pink cupcake brought individuals together to create a very special community.

Flan had a change of pace from providing Hot Tomato listener’s with a daily dose of humour. Whilst sharing his family’s experience with women’s cancer, he touched on a point which remained with me for days after the Harbour Town morning tea. It is important to keep life as normal as possible for anyone whose life is turned upside down. That is what the Pinky Promise morning tea was all about. Women, men and children simply sharing stories and laughter over a pink treat.

Sometimes the simplest message is the one which has the biggest impact. We are here for you. We made a Pinky Promise to every single woman impacted by cancer and will continue to embrace this message in our support of the Gold Coast and wider community.

We would like to express our gratitude for the generosity of The Coffee Club, Star Cafe, Grill’d, Subway, Bakers Delight, Donut King, Boost Juice, San Churro and Yogurtland. A special thank you also to our host Duncan Armstrong and guest speaker Tracy Loveridge for making the event a beautiful morning.
