I had the privilege of joining HTG in July 2016. I was currently working in the Telco industry at the time and had a friend who had made the switch to HTG and couldn’t speak more highly of the company. He arranged an interview for me and within 1 week I had started at the Helensvale Telstra Store – and what an opportunity that was. I enjoyed my new fast-paced and competitive environment, it was the change I had been looking for.
My first 2 months I started to settle into the store and learn about my new demographic of customers, my peers and the whole company behind it. I felt welcomed from the beginning and the support I received was overwhelming. All of a sudden I found myself in an environment surrounded by people who acknowledged and rewarded hard work, and absolutely loved doing so.
Something that I looked for when starting with HTG was to be in an environment who supported my growth through various training and development options. In the first few months of being there my manager at the time asked me about where I wanted to be within the company and I expressed my interest of moving into the Retail Leadership Team.
She told me that she would continue to work with me until I got there – and that she did. In February 2017 I was given the opportunity to move to the Burleigh store to in time be apart of their Retail Leadership Team, and in May I was moved into the role.
Right from my first day at Burleigh, I was accepted into their little family of 9 and am grateful everyday for the people that I get to work with. I have already learnt so much since moving and continue to learn new things every single day. I look forward to growing in my new role, and working for HTG in the years to come.
