If you live the HTG values day to day, the opportunities are endless
Let's take this back to when I first started with HTG in September 2016. I had just left my previous job and done a little bit of travelling..
At the age of 33, I could never have imagined, in my wildest dreams, that I would be in a position to be gifted a scholarship. And yet here I am.
To many people, education is a necessary means to an end, a path to their chosen career, but not to me. I am the somewhat annoying classmate who asks a million questions and yearns to understand every nook and cranny of the subject at hand. I simply and truly love learning.
I’m now in my fourth major career change and reinvention, but I’ve finally found the industry that’s the perfect fit for me – Finance Broking.
I started out in Telemarketing, which funded my study years and allowed me to discover and develop my natural flare for sales. My next move was to Natural Medicine, my first love, but the industry was a tad to alternative for my personality and I followed my hip-pocket straight back into ICT sales. I then found myself in Real Estate sales, which while being very enjoyable, really wasn’t quite what I was looking for as a new mum.
And so the finance industry beckoned. It had been in the back of my mind for some time and before I knew it, I was enrolled and on the journey that led me here – a Finance Broker and the Director of my own Finance and Mortgage Broker business – Loanezi.
I’ve started this blog as a memento for myself – to reflect on the journey of my early days (before I become a massive mind-blowing success story) and perhaps as an inspiration to others. The mind-blowing success might seem like a little bit of wishful thinking, but with a whole lot of positive visualisation and a belief in the law of attraction, I’m determined to get there.
Together with 8 other women in the Asset Finance Industry, Women and Leadership Australia has gifted me a wonderful opportunity in the form of a scholarship. I want to take this chance to express my gratefulness and to also thank David Gill CEO of CAFBA for the additional grant and support in the scholarship application.
My scholarship will see me studying at the Australian School of Applied Management as part of their Accelerated Leadership Program. It sounds remarkable, and I thought it would be the ideal way for me to kick off my blog – sharing my journey and experience throughout this program.
Day 1 will be at the Rydges South Bank in Brisbane with Foundations of Contemporary Leadership. I can’t tell you how excited I am. Or maybe I just have.
